Privacy policy
By the IPTV Gold editorial team · How we write and test
Quick answer Last updated:
IPTV Gold collects only what it needs to run your subscription: contact details, order details, your device type and support messages. We never see card numbers, because you pay through your own bank by Interac e-Transfer. We don't use ad trackers or sell data, and you can ask to see, correct or delete yours.
Who this policy covers
This policy explains how IPTV Gold handles personal information when you visit iptvgold.ca, ask for a trial, place an order or contact support. We follow the principles of Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA): we collect only what we need, explain why, keep it safe, and let you see and correct it. If you'd like the background on the service itself, start with our Canadian IPTV service.
What we collect
We collect four kinds of information, and only when you give it to us by ordering, requesting a trial or messaging support.
| What | Examples | Why we need it |
|---|---|---|
| Contact details | Your name, email address and mobile number | To send your login, answer support requests and confirm orders |
| Live Chat security data | The mobile number that opens your chat, a private device code saved in your browser (a SHA-256 fingerprint of browser, screen and time zone plus a random part) and the IP address of your connection | So only you can open your conversation, to confirm new devices and to prevent trial abuse and fraud |
| Order details | Order number, plan, price, date, channel package, and the name and reference on your e-Transfer | To match your payment to your order, activate it, handle refunds and keep accounting records |
| Device information | The type of device and app you use and, for MAG boxes, the box’s MAC address | To send the right setup steps and assign a MAG portal to your box |
| Support messages | What you write to us, plus any screenshots or photos you send | To fix problems and keep a record of what we agreed |
Technical data when you stream
When you're signed in and watching, our streaming servers process technical data such as your IP address, the times your login connects and how many screens are using it. We use this to deliver streams, diagnose faults and stop logins from being shared beyond the plan's screen limit. We don't build viewing profiles from it, and we don't sell or share it for marketing.
What we don't collect
- No card numbers or banking logins. Payment happens inside your own bank's app or website by Interac e-Transfer. We see the amount, the sender name and the message you add; your bank details stay with your bank.
- No ad trackers. We don't use advertising pixels, retargeting tags or third-party ad networks.
- No data sales. We don't sell, rent or trade personal information to anyone.
How we use your information
We use what we collect to provide the service you asked for: activating your plan, sending your login, helping with setup, processing refunds, preventing fraud and account sharing, and keeping the records the law requires. We'll only use it for something new if we ask you first. By ordering or contacting us, you consent to these uses, and you can withdraw consent at any time, although we may then be unable to provide the service.
Where it's stored
Your information is kept in the accounts we use to run the service: our order records, our email provider and our Live Chat server (supportiptv.ca), which stores your conversation, attachments and the security data above. Some of these providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it can be subject to the laws of that country. We share information with service providers only as far as they need it to do their job, and we'll disclose it to authorities only when the law requires it, such as under a court order.
How long we keep it
- Order and payment records: as long as tax and accounting rules require, which is generally six years.
- Support conversations: up to 24 months after your last plan ends, then deleted.
- Trial requests that didn't lead to an order: up to 12 months.
- Streaming connection logs: no longer than 90 days, unless we need them to investigate abuse.
Cloudflare hosting and security logs
This website is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request data, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site and protect it from attacks and abusive traffic. Those security logs are kept by Cloudflare under its own privacy policy, and we use them only to keep the site running safely.
Cookies
The site doesn't set tracking cookies, and we use no cookies for advertising. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to tell real visitors apart from bots. It isn't used to follow you around the web, and it doesn't identify you personally.
How we protect it
We limit access to the people who handle orders and support, protect the accounts that hold your information with strong authentication, and only keep data as long as the schedule above allows. If a breach ever creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we'll notify you and report it to the Privacy Commissioner, as PIPEDA requires.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA, you can:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that's wrong or out of date.
- Ask for deletion of information we no longer need, subject to the records we must keep by law.
- Withdraw consent to uses that aren't required to provide the service.
- Complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you're unhappy with how we've handled your information. Québec residents also have rights under Québec's private-sector privacy law and can contact the Commission d'accès à l'information.
We answer access and correction requests within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, usually by replying from the email address or phone number on your order.
Children
The service is for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us their details, contact us and we'll delete them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes won't apply to information we already hold without telling you first. The terms of service cover everything else about your subscription.
