What is an IPTV subscription? Last updated:
An IPTV subscription is paid access to live TV over the internet: a login that opens 56,000+ channels, movies and series on demand, a program guide and catch-up on any compatible device. With IPTV Gold you pay once in CAD by Interac e-Transfer, plans run 1 to 12 months from $6.33 a month, and nothing auto-renews.
Strip away the marketing and an IPTV subscription is a time-limited pass to log in. There's no box to rent and no dish on the roof. You're paying for access to a streaming server for a set number of months, plus the guide data, library and support that make it usable.
When you buy an IPTV subscription in Canada from us, the first thing to arrive is a set of credentials. Which kind you use depends on the hardware in front of you:
| Part of the subscription | What you actually receive | Where it shows up |
|---|---|---|
| Login credentials | An Xtream Codes login, an M3U playlist link, or a MAG portal address registered to your box | Typed once into your player app or the MAG settings menu |
| Live channels | 56,000+ channels grouped by country, province, language and league | The Live TV tab of your player |
| Video on demand | Movie and series libraries you start whenever you like, sorted by genre | The Movies and Series tabs |
| Program guide (EPG) | XMLTV guide data: titles, start times and short descriptions for the grid | Loads on its own in TiviMate and IPTV Smarters Pro |
| Catch-up | Replay of recently aired programs on channels that support it | Channels flagged with a rewind or clock icon |
| Support | 24/7 help by Live Chat and email, in English and French | Setup questions, playback problems, extensions |
One login opens all of it, with no surcharge for the guide or the library. Catch-up depends on the channel rather than the plan: if the source keeps an archive, you can rewind.
Only two things change: how long you're covered and what each month works out to. The 1-month plan and the 12-month plan open the same channels, the same 4K group, the same backup streams on busy nights and the same support line. Some sellers carve their lineup into bronze, silver and gold tiers. We don't.

Here's the same information with the arithmetic done for you.
| Plan | Total (CAD) | Per month | Savings | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 Month | $16 | $16/mo | Baseline price | A first paid month after the free trial, or a short-term rental |
| 3 Months | $26 | $8.67/mo | 46% less than monthly | A playoff run, or a summer away from your usual setup |
| 6 Months | $46 | $7.67/mo | 52% less than monthly | Snowbirds heading south for the winter, or most of an NHL regular season |
| 12 Months | $76 | $6.33/mo | 60% less than monthly | Households that have cancelled cable for good and want the lowest monthly cost |
Put another way: 12 separate monthly payments would come to $192, while the 12-month plan is $76. That's $116 left in your pocket for the same year of TV.
Plenty of people search for cheap IPTV in Canada. Fair enough, but a low price only counts as value if the stream holds when the Leafs go to overtime. The $6.33-a-month figure is the full service, discounted because you've committed for longer: you give up flexibility, not picture quality. Want proof first? The 24-hour free trial uses the full lineup, and our plan price comparison spells out each length over time.
There's no account to create. Activation follows the same five steps whether you order at noon or at midnight.
Pick a plan length on the secure checkout page, choose Full Channels or English Channels Only, and add your name, email and mobile number. The page gives you an order number starting with GLD-. Keep it handy.
Open your own bank's app and send the exact plan total to the recipient shown at checkout. Put the order number in the memo field. On most Canadian banking apps this takes under two minutes.
The memo is how a transfer gets tied to an order, so a blank or mistyped number is the most common cause of delay. Transfers usually land within minutes, although a bank's fraud check can hold a first payment to a new recipient for longer.
Credentials go out by email or Live Chat, usually within 10 to 30 minutes of the transfer arriving. Using a MAG box? Send the MAC address from the sticker underneath so the portal can be registered before you switch it on.
Enter the login in your app and the channel list and guide fill in. On a Firestick or smart TV that's about 5 minutes, and our device-by-device setup instructions show every screen.
Timing it end to end
Roughly two minutes to send the transfer, 10 to 30 minutes for the login to arrive, then about 5 minutes in the app. Order before dinner and you're comfortably set for the evening game.
Once you're watching, there's little to manage. These are the situations that come up for nearly everyone.
Order any plan length at checkout and choose Extend subscription instead of first-time customer. The new months go on the login you already use, so your favourites, parental PIN and player settings stay put. Extend a few days early and the extra time is added after your current end date, which means you don't lose the days you've already paid for.
An e-Transfer is a push payment. Money moves only when you send it, so nothing can be charged when the term runs out. Note your end date; most Xtream Codes players also show it in their account info screen.
Apart from MAG boxes, the login isn't tied to hardware. New Samsung in the living room? Install the player, enter the same server URL, username and password, and close the app on the old screen. Switching MAG boxes? Send the new MAC address to support.
A 1-device plan streams to one screen at once. Install it on the Firestick, the bedroom TV and your phone if you like; just play on one at a time. When two devices pull streams on the same 1-device login, one usually gets cut off.
Want the basement and the living room going at once during the playoffs? Choose the 2-device version of your plan ($127 for twelve months) or the 3-device version ($177). Already subscribed? Ask our support team and we'll upgrade your login.
Streams stop and the player shows a login or expired-account message. That's all. Your apps and settings stay saved, and if you come back after a gap, ask support whether the old login can be reactivated. And if a paid plan isn't what you expected, the 7-day money-back terms explain how a refund is returned by Interac e-Transfer.
For channels, devices and the cost case against cable, see our IPTV Canada overview.
Ours runs from $16 for one month to $76 for 12 months, in Canadian dollars and paid once. Longer plans bring the monthly cost down to $6.33. Every length opens the same 56,000+ channels, library and guide, so you're choosing how long you're covered, not which features you get.
Yes. Payment is by Interac e-Transfer from your own bank's app, so no card number is entered anywhere and nothing is stored on file. You send the plan total with your order number in the memo, and your login follows by email or Live Chat. Since money only moves when you send it, a plan can't bill you again on its own.
No. When the term ends, the login simply stops working and nothing is charged. To keep watching, place a new order at checkout and mark it as an extension, so the extra months go on the login you already use and your favourites stay as they were.
You can install the same login on as many devices as you like, but the number of screens that can play at the same moment depends on the version you buy: 1, 2 or 3 devices. A 1-device login playing on two TVs at once will cut one of them off. The 2 and 3-device versions are listed on the pricing page.
Check your spam folder and make sure the transfer has actually left your bank account, then confirm the order number was in the memo. If both look right, message IPTV Gold support with the order number and the time you paid. Banks occasionally hold a first transfer to a new recipient for review.
Not sure which length fits? Run the 24-hour trial on the TV you'll actually use, then order through checkout. Your login lands within 10 to 30 minutes of the e-Transfer, and the 7-day refund window still applies once you've paid.
