About IPTV Gold
By the IPTV Gold editorial team · How we write and test
Quick answer Last updated:
IPTV Gold is a Canada-focused IPTV subscription: live TV delivered over your own internet connection, priced in Canadian dollars and paid by Interac e-Transfer. We test streams across devices and Canadian internet providers, write our guides from that testing, and answer support 24/7 in English and French.
What IPTV Gold is
IPTV Gold is an independent IPTV subscription for people who live in Canada. When you sign up, you don't get a box or a technician. You get a login: an Xtream Codes server address, username and password, an M3U playlist link, or a MAG portal URL. You enter it in a player app on a device you already own, and a full program guide loads with 56,000+ live channels, movies and series.
The reason the service exists is simple. Too much of the IPTV market aimed at Canadians is priced in US dollars, paid in crypto, and supported by an email address nobody answers. We wanted the opposite: prices in CAD, payment from your own bank, a channel guide sorted for Canadian homes, and a person on the other end of the chat.
Who it's for
- Households leaving cable who want live TV without a contract, a rented receiver or a yearly price increase.
- French-speaking viewers in Québec, Ottawa-Gatineau, New Brunswick and beyond, who want French-language Canadian networks grouped together.
- Sports fans following the NHL, CFL, NBA and MLB on Canadian time zones, from Newfoundland to the West Coast.
- Newcomers and multilingual families who want channels from home alongside Canadian TV.
- Cottage and second-home owners who'd rather sign in on a stick than pay for a second cable account.
How we test the service
Testing is part of how we run the service, not a marketing badge. Here's what we check, and how often. We keep the description modest on purpose: these are our commitments, and we'd rather under-promise.
Stream checks across devices
Every week we rotate through the devices our customers actually use: a Fire TV Stick 4K Max, Samsung (Tizen) and LG (webOS) smart TVs, Android TV boxes such as the Formuler Z11 Pro and NVIDIA Shield, an iPhone, and a MAG box. We check that channels load quickly in TiviMate, IPTV Smarters Pro and IBO Player, and that HD and 4K groups play without stutter.
Different Canadian internet providers
A stream that's smooth on one network can behave differently on another. We test on connections from several major Canadian providers, cable and fibre, so problems tied to a particular network show up before customers report them.
Peak-hour monitoring
Quiet afternoons prove very little. We watch the busiest windows, weekday evenings and big game nights, when demand spikes and weak services fall over. That's when backup streams earn their keep. Our 99.9% uptime figure is a target we work to, not a guarantee.
EPG accuracy checks
A program guide that's an hour off is nearly useless. We spot-check the EPG against what's actually airing, including time-zone handling for Pacific, Mountain, Central, Eastern, Atlantic and Newfoundland viewers.
Editorial policy
Every guide on this site carries the byline "the IPTV Gold editorial team". Here's what that means and the rules we hold ourselves to.
- How guides are written. Setup guides are written from hands-on use of the devices and apps they describe. Menu names and steps are checked against current app versions, because Fire TV and smart TV menus change more often than you'd think.
- Real "Last updated" dates. The date at the top of each page is the date its content last changed in a meaningful way. We don't bump dates to look fresh, and we don't backdate them.
- Corrections. If you spot a mistake, tell us through the contact page. We fix factual errors as soon as we've checked them and update the page date when we do.
- No paid placements. No app developer, device maker or internet provider pays to be mentioned, recommended or ranked in our guides.
- No fake reviews. We don't write testimonials, invent star ratings or quote customers who don't exist. Reviews appear on this site only when they come from real customers who've agreed to have them published, exactly as they wrote them.
- Legal topics. When we write about the law, we work from public sources: legislation, CRTC decisions and published court rulings. We explain what's settled and what isn't, we don't give legal advice, and we never claim licences or approvals we don't hold. Our guide on IPTV and Canadian law is written to that standard.
What we won't do
Some promises are easier to make as a list of things we refuse to do.
- Lifetime plans. No one can honestly promise to stream to you forever for a single payment. Our longest plan is 12 months, and that's deliberate.
- Crypto-only payment. You pay by Interac e-Transfer from your own Canadian bank, so there's a clear record on both sides. We never ask for gift cards or a crypto wallet.
- Auto-renewal traps. Each plan is paid once. When it ends, it ends. Nothing renews unless you place a new order, and our 7-day money-back guarantee covers new plans.
