IPTV FAQ: 80+ answers for Canadian viewers

By the IPTV Gold editorial team · How we write and test

What does this IPTV FAQ cover? Last updated:

The 81 answers below cover the questions Canadian viewers ask about IPTV: plan prices from $6.33 a month, whether IPTV is legal, which devices and apps work, activation, channels, NHL and French TV, internet speeds, refunds and fixes for buffering. Each answer stands on its own, and support handles anything else 24/7.

How this IPTV FAQ is organised

This page collects every question we answer regularly about our Canadian IPTV service, sorted into 10 topics. Each answer is short and written to make sense on its own, so you can skip straight to the part that's bothering you. Prices, channel totals and timings come from the same source as our checkout, which means they're current as of the date above. Tap any question to open it.

Pricing & plans

What each plan costs in Canadian dollars, why nothing renews behind your back, and what the 2 and 3-device plans cost. Every price here comes from the same table as our checkout.

How much does IPTV Gold cost?

Plans are priced in Canadian dollars and paid once: $16 for one month, up to $76 for twelve months, which works out to $6.33 a month. There's no contract, no equipment rental and no auto-renewal. Every plan includes the same 56,000+ channels and a 7-day money-back guarantee. See the full price table.

How does the 24-hour free trial work?

Open Live Chat or read the free trial page, tell us your device, and we'll send a test login, usually within 30 minutes. You get the full lineup of 56,000+ channels for 24 hours. No credit card, no payment and no automatic conversion to a paid plan. If you like it, you choose a plan afterwards.

What's the cheapest IPTV option in Canada?

With IPTV Gold, the lowest monthly cost is $6.33, on the 12-month plan at $76. If you'd rather spend less upfront, the 1-month plan is $16. Be wary of cheap IPTV in Canada sold at a price that seems too good to last: those sellers tend to overload servers, vanish without refunds and ask for crypto. A low price only matters if the stream holds up on a Saturday night.

Why don't IPTV Gold plans renew automatically?

Because we never hold your card or bank details. You pay each plan once by Interac e-Transfer, a payment only you can send, so there's nothing for us to charge again. When your term ends, the service simply stops until you choose to order again. No surprise renewals, no cancellation calls, and no need to remember to switch anything off before a deadline.

Can I watch on two or more TVs at the same time?

Yes. Every plan comes in 1, 2 or 3-device versions, and the number is how many screens can stream at the same moment. Twelve months for two TVs is $127 and for three is $177, paid once in Canadian dollars. You can install the apps on more devices than that and switch between them. Compare every combination on the pricing page.

Are taxes or other fees added to the price?

No. The price on the plan card is the full amount you send: $16, $26, $46 or $76 in Canadian dollars, depending on the length you pick. Checkout doesn't add a tax line, a processing fee or a currency conversion charge. Your own bank may charge an e-Transfer fee depending on your account, but many Canadian chequing accounts include e-Transfers at no extra cost.

Which plan length should I choose?

If you've finished the free trial and you're sure, the 12-month plan gives the lowest monthly price, $6.33, and saves 60% compared with paying month by month. The 3-month plan fits a single season, such as the NHL stretch run and playoffs. The 1-month plan suits a short stay or a cautious first month. Every length carries the same channels and the same 7-day guarantee.

Can I pay by credit card or PayPal?

Not at the moment. Every plan is paid by Interac e-Transfer from your own Canadian bank's app or website, which keeps card numbers off our site entirely and means nothing is stored that could be charged later. Nearly every bank and credit union in Canada supports it, including RBC, TD, Scotiabank, BMO, CIBC, National Bank and Desjardins. The checkout page walks you through it.

How do I renew or extend my plan?

Place a new order for any plan length and pay by e-Transfer, exactly as the first time. Mention your current username to support when you order, so the new time can be added to your existing login and your apps keep working without being set up again. Renewing a few days before your expiry date avoids a gap, and IPTV Smarters shows that date under account info.

Legality & privacy

Straight answers on Canadian copyright law, the notice-and-notice system, VPNs and what happens to your personal information. For the full legal background, see the dedicated explainer linked below.

Is IPTV legal in Canada?

Yes, IPTV as a technology is legal in Canada. Bell, Rogers and Telus all deliver TV this way. What matters under the Copyright Act is whether content is distributed with the rights holder's permission. Our guide on whether IPTV is legal in Canada explains the CRTC's role, recent court decisions and how to stay on the right side of the law.

Is IPTV technology itself legal, or is it the content that matters?

The technology is legal; the content is what the law cares about. IPTV is simply a way of sending video over internet protocol, the same method Bell Fibe TV, Telus Optik and Rogers Ignite use. Canada's Copyright Act looks at whether a program is distributed with the rights holder's permission. A player app, a Firestick or an M3U playlist isn't illegal on its own. Our legal explainer covers the detail.

What is Canada's notice-and-notice system?

It's the process the Copyright Act has used since 2015 for alleged online infringement. A rights holder sends a notice to an internet provider, and the provider must forward it to the customer linked to that IP address. The ISP doesn't hand your name to the rights holder, and since late 2018 notices can't include settlement demands. A notice is a warning letter, not a lawsuit or a fine.

Do I need a VPN to use IPTV in Canada?

No. IPTV Gold works on any Canadian connection without a VPN, and none of our setup guides use one. Some people run a VPN for general privacy across all their devices, and that's their choice; if you do, a nearby Canadian server keeps speeds up. A VPN isn't a way around court-ordered blocking or ISP measures, and we don't suggest using one for that.

Is my payment private when I pay by Interac e-Transfer?

Yes, more private than a card form. You send the money from your own bank's app, so we never see your card number, online banking login or account number. What reaches us is the sender name your bank attaches, the amount and your memo. Your email or mobile number is used only to deliver your login and help you. The privacy policy lists exactly what we keep.

Does IPTV Gold share or sell my personal data?

No. We don't sell customer information, and this site doesn't use advertising cookies. The details you give us, a name, a contact method, your device and your order, are used to deliver the service and answer support requests, nothing else. Canada's federal privacy law, PIPEDA, gives you the right to see or correct that information, and our privacy commitments explain how to ask.

Is Reddit a good place to research IPTV in Canada?

It's useful for some things and unreliable for others. Reddit threads are good for app tips, TiviMate settings, Firestick fixes and honest ISP experiences from other Canadians. They're poor for choosing a provider: many IPTV subreddits ban naming sellers, recommendations sent by private message are often self-promotion, and advice goes stale fast. Treat any recommendation as a lead, then judge it with a free trial on your own TV.

Devices

Firesticks, smart TVs, MAG boxes, Formuler and BuzzTV, phones and computers: what works, what to buy if you're shopping, and what to skip.

What devices work with IPTV Gold?

Almost anything with a screen and an app store: Amazon Firestick and Fire TV, Samsung and LG smart TVs, Android TV and Google TV, Android phones and boxes like Formuler or BuzzTV, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, MAG boxes, and Windows or Mac computers. Each device has a step-by-step setup guide, and most take about 5 minutes.

What's the best IPTV box in Canada?

For most homes, the best IPTV box is one you already own: a Fire TV Stick 4K Max or a Google TV Streamer handles 4K well. If you want a dedicated box, the Formuler Z11 Pro, BuzzTV models and the NVIDIA Shield TV are popular because they're quick and take an Ethernet cable. MAG boxes such as the MAG 524 suit people who want a cable-style remote and no apps. There's no box to rent from us.

Is there an IPTV app for Canada I can download?

There isn't a single IPTV Gold app. Instead, you use a player app and sign in with the login we send. IPTV Smarters Pro, TiviMate, XCIPTV and IBO Player are the common choices, and the right one depends on your device. Some are in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store; others install through the Downloader app on a Firestick. A few TV apps charge their own small activation fee, paid to the developer, not to us.

Does IPTV Gold work on an Amazon Firestick, and which model should I buy?

Yes, and it's one of the quickest devices to set up. The Fire TV Stick 4K Max is the model to buy: it has Wi-Fi 6E, enough memory for TiviMate and decodes 4K without stuttering. The Lite model is fine for HD on a smaller TV. Avoid sticks running Amazon's newer Vega OS, which doesn't accept sideloaded apps. Our Firestick setup guide takes about 5 minutes.

Can I use IPTV on my Samsung or LG smart TV?

Yes. Samsung TVs run Tizen and LG TVs run webOS, and neither allows sideloading, so you install a player from the TV's own app store. IBO Player is the usual choice on both: it shows a MAC address and device key that link your playlist to the TV, and support can do that part for you. Sony, TCL and Hisense models with Google TV run TiviMate directly. The smart TV guide covers each brand.

How does IPTV work on a MAG box?

A MAG box doesn't use an app. It connects to a portal URL tied to the box's MAC address, a code printed on the sticker underneath that starts with 00:1A:79. Send us that MAC when you order, enter the portal URL we return under Settings, Servers, then Portals, and reboot. The MAG 524 and 424 handle 4K; the MAG 322 tops out at Full HD. See the MAG portal guide.

Do Formuler and BuzzTV boxes work with IPTV Gold?

Yes, both are built for IPTV. Formuler boxes such as the Z11 Pro run the MyTVOnline 3 app, which accepts either an Xtream Codes login or a MAC-based portal, and its guide is one of the cleanest around. BuzzTV boxes take an Xtream Codes login in their own player. Both have Ethernet ports, which we recommend for 4K, and both run Android underneath, so TiviMate installs too.

How many devices can I use with one subscription?

As many as you like, one at a time. A standard plan includes one connection, so you can sign in on the living-room Firestick, a phone and a tablet, but only one of them should be streaming at any moment. Starting a second stream usually knocks the first one off or shows a "max connections" message. For simultaneous viewing on several TVs, ask support about adding screens.

Does IPTV work on Roku?

Not well. Roku doesn't allow sideloading and doesn't carry the IPTV players we support, so there's no dependable way to load an Xtream Codes or M3U login on it. The practical fix is inexpensive: plug a Fire TV Stick or a Google TV device into a spare HDMI port and switch inputs. You can keep the Roku for its own apps and use the stick for live TV.

Setup & activation

Login formats, activation times and which player to install. Most people are watching within about 5 minutes of receiving their details.

What's the difference between Xtream Codes, M3U and a MAG portal login?

They're three formats for the same channels. Xtream Codes is a server URL, username and password; it loads channels, the guide and on-demand titles in one go, which is why we suggest it for IPTV Smarters, TiviMate and XCIPTV. An M3U link is a single playlist URL, handy for VLC or IBO Player, with the guide added separately. A MAG portal is a URL tied to your box's MAC address.

How long does activation take after I pay?

Usually 10 to 30 minutes from the moment your e-Transfer lands. We match the payment to your order number, create your line and send the login by email or Live Chat. Late-night and early-morning orders are handled the same way, because support runs 24/7. If an hour passes with nothing in your inbox, check the spam folder, then message support with your order number.

Which player app should I use with my login?

Match the app to your device. On a Firestick or Android TV, TiviMate has the best guide and IPTV Smarters Pro is the easiest start. On Samsung or LG, use IBO Player. iPhone and iPad owners tend to pick IPTV Smarters Player Lite or GSE Smart IPTV, and Apple TV owners iPlayTV or IPTVX. On a Windows PC, VLC plays the M3U link. MAG boxes need no app at all.

Do I need technical skills to set up IPTV?

No. If you can install an app and type a password, you can do it. Most setups take about 5 minutes: install the player, choose the login type, enter the details we send, and wait a moment while the channels load. The Firestick has one extra step, allowing apps from unknown sources, and our guides show exactly where that setting hides. Support can also walk you through it live.

What do I need to tell you when I order?

Three things: the device you'll watch on, the app or login type you prefer if you know it, and where to send your login: email or Live Chat. MAG box owners also need the MAC address from the sticker under the box. Not sure which app suits your TV? Just say so and we'll recommend one. You don't need to create an account or hand over a credit card.

How do I load the TV guide (EPG) in my app?

With an Xtream Codes login, the guide loads by itself in IPTV Smarters, TiviMate and XCIPTV, usually within a minute or two of signing in. With an M3U playlist, paste the separate XMLTV guide link we send into the app's EPG setting. MAG portals pull the guide automatically. Listings follow your device's clock, so set the right time zone, Eastern, Pacific or otherwise, before you start.

Can support help me set it up over Live Chat?

Yes. Message support 24/7 in English or French with your device model and what you see on screen, and someone walks you through it step by step. A photo of the screen often solves things faster than a description. Common snags, like a typo in the server URL or a Firestick blocking unknown apps, usually take a couple of minutes. You can also start with our device setup guides.

Can I move my subscription to a new device?

Yes. Install a player on the new device and sign in with the same Xtream Codes details or M3U link; the old device stops counting the moment it stops streaming. MAG boxes are the exception because the line is tied to the MAC address, so send support the new MAC and they'll move it across. Either way, the time left on your plan stays exactly the same.

Channels & content

The lineup, the program guide, catch-up, on-demand movies and series, 4K, international groups and parental controls.

What is IPTV and how does it work in Canada?

IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) delivers live TV over your home internet instead of a cable line or satellite dish. You install a player app such as IPTV Smarters or TiviMate, sign in with the login we send you, and the channels load in a guide that looks a lot like cable. Any Canadian internet connection of 25 Mbps or more handles HD and 4K comfortably.

Which channels are included in IPTV Gold?

Every plan includes the full lineup of 56,000+ live channels, grouped so they're easy to browse: Canadian English networks and local news, French-language Québec channels, sports by league, 24-hour news, movies with a 4K group, kids, documentaries, music and more than 40 international language groups. Movies and series on demand come on top. The channel list by category shows what each group holds.

Is there a TV guide (EPG) like on cable?

Yes. The electronic program guide shows what's on now and next across the lineup, with listings that run several days ahead on most channels. In TiviMate it looks like a classic cable grid you scroll by time; IPTV Smarters shows it channel by channel. You can open a show's description, set a reminder in some apps, and jump straight to catch-up where a channel supports it.

What is catch-up TV and which channels have it?

Catch-up lets you play a show that already aired, straight from the guide, without having recorded it. It's available on supported channels, often major Canadian networks, news and some sports channels, which are marked with a small archive or clock icon in TiviMate and IPTV Smarters. How far back you can go varies by channel. It's ideal for a 7 p.m. Eastern game you missed on the West Coast.

Are movies and series on demand included?

Yes, every plan includes an on-demand library of movies and full TV series alongside the live channels, at no extra cost. Titles are sorted by genre and recent additions, many in Full HD and some in 4K. In IPTV Smarters and XCIPTV they sit under the Movies and Series tabs. You pick a title and press play, with pause and rewind, and there's never a rental fee.

Is there 4K content, and what do I need to watch it?

Yes. A dedicated 4K group carries live channels and events, plus on-demand titles mastered in Ultra HD. To watch it properly you need a 4K TV, a 4K-capable device such as a Fire TV Stick 4K Max, NVIDIA Shield, Apple TV 4K or Formuler Z11 Pro, and roughly 25 Mbps per stream. A wired connection or a strong Wi-Fi 5 or 6 signal keeps 4K steady on busy evenings.

Are international channels included in every plan?

Yes, the international groups are part of every plan, not an add-on. There are more than 40 language groups, including Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu and Tamil, Arabic and Farsi, Cantonese and Mandarin, Filipino, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, Greek, Polish, Ukrainian and Caribbean channels. Each language has its own group in the guide, so a household that watches in two languages can keep both a click away in favourites.

Can I lock channels with a parental PIN?

Yes. TiviMate, IPTV Smarters Pro and MAG portals all let you set a parental PIN and lock any group or channel, including the mature-content categories, so they can't be opened without the code. You can also hide groups you'll never use, which shortens the list for younger viewers. Set the PIN before handing over the remote; it takes about a minute in the app's settings.

Is there an English-only channel list?

Yes. At checkout you can choose the full lineup or a shorter English-only list, which leaves out the international and French groups so it's faster to scroll with a remote. It's handy for households that only watch in English, or for setting up a parent's TV with fewer menus to get lost in. If you change your mind later, ask support to switch it.

Sports

Hockey, football, soccer, basketball, baseball and fight nights, plus what to do when a stream drops at the worst possible moment.

Can I watch NHL games on IPTV Gold?

Yes. NHL games air on the Canadian sports networks and American channels in the sports group, including national broadcasts and regional feeds for teams like the Leafs, Canadiens, Oilers, Canucks, Flames, Jets and Senators. French-language broadcasts sit in the Québec group. Big nights get backup streams, and catch-up on supported channels covers the late West Coast game you missed. Browse the sports channel group.

Is the CFL included, and can I watch the Grey Cup?

Yes. CFL games from June through the fall air on the Canadian sports networks in the sports group, and the Grey Cup in November sits on the same channels. That covers the Riders, Bombers, Stampeders, Elks, Lions, Tiger-Cats, Argonauts, Redblacks and Alouettes whenever their games are broadcast. If a game clashes with something else, catch-up on supported channels lets you watch it afterwards.

Can I watch NFL Sunday games in Canada?

Yes. Sunday NFL games show up on the American networks and Canadian sports channels in the sports group, so the early and late afternoon windows and the Sunday night game are all on the guide. Because several games run at once, look for the matchup in the guide's listings rather than flipping through one channel. Monday night games follow the same pattern, and the Super Bowl gets backup streams.

What time do Premier League matches air in Canada, and can I watch them later?

Most Premier League matches kick off at 7:30 a.m., 10 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. Eastern on weekends, which is 4:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in Vancouver. They air on the sports channels carrying them, with the Champions League and other European leagues nearby in the group. If a kickoff is too early, catch-up on supported channels lets you watch the match later, before anyone spoils the score.

Can I watch UFC and pay-per-view events?

Major fight cards and big events appear in the sports and events groups when they're carried, usually with a backup stream listed beside the main one. Coverage of a specific pay-per-view isn't guaranteed, so if one event is the reason you're subscribing, ask support before fight night rather than finding out at the main card. Prelims often air earlier on regular sports channels.

What happens if a stream drops in the middle of a big game?

Switch to the backup. On busy nights, major games have a second source listed in the same group, often labelled with a 2 or "backup", so you're back in seconds. If both struggle, the cause is usually the home network: restart the app, move to Ethernet or drop to the HD version. Support works 24/7, so message them mid-game and they'll check the source.

Are the Raptors, Blue Jays and other Canadian teams covered?

Yes. NBA, MLB and MLS games carried by Canadian sports networks are in the sports group, so Raptors, Blue Jays, Toronto FC, CF Montréal and Whitecaps broadcasts show up alongside US feeds. During baseball season the Jays are on most nights, which makes the 3-month plan a tidy fit for a summer. PWHL hockey and curling turn up on the same networks.

Is live sport on IPTV delayed compared with cable?

Slightly. Streams typically run anywhere from a few seconds to about half a minute behind a cable or over-the-air signal, which is normal for internet TV, including the big providers' own streaming apps. You'll only notice if a neighbour cheers first or your phone buzzes with a score alert. Muting sports notifications during the game takes care of it.

French TV & Québec

Québec channels, hockey en français, local news and support in French. Réponses courtes, en anglais ici, et notre équipe répond aussi en français.

Are French-language Canadian channels included?

Yes, in every plan. French-language Canadian networks have their own Québec group, separate from the English ones, with general entertainment, news, sports, kids and specialty channels. Channels from France and Belgium sit in a francophone group right next to it. In a bilingual household, save both the French and English groups as favourites and you can switch languages in a couple of clicks.

Can I watch Canadiens games and other hockey in French?

Yes. NHL games broadcast in French by the French-language Canadian sports networks are in the Québec group, which covers Canadiens games and the national French broadcasts through the playoffs. You can flip between the French and English broadcasts of the same game, handy when half the couch prefers each. Backup streams are listed on big nights, and our Montréal IPTV guide has local tips.

Is Québec news included?

Yes. The Québec group carries the French-language news networks and the main evening newscasts, plus regional news from Montréal, Québec City and other markets where those feeds are available. English-language Québec news is there too. Catch-up on supported channels lets you replay the 6 p.m. bulletin later in the evening, which helps if you commute, work shifts or put the kids to bed first.

Is IPTV Gold support available in French?

Oui. Support is bilingual and available 24/7 by Live Chat and email, so you can ask for a trial, sort out a setup problem or request a refund in French or English. Write in whichever language you're comfortable with and the reply comes back in the same one. Setup terms like Xtream Codes and M3U stay the same in both languages, which keeps instructions easy to follow.

Can I use my IPTV app and guide in French?

Yes. IPTV Smarters Pro, TiviMate and the MAG portal all offer a French interface in their settings, and some apps switch automatically when the device itself is set to French. Guide listings for French channels already appear in French. On a Firestick, change the language under Settings, then Preferences, then Language, and the player usually follows after a restart.

Are there French movies and series on demand?

Yes. The on-demand library includes French-language titles, from Québec and European productions to French-dubbed versions of popular films and series. In IPTV Smarters and XCIPTV, look for the French or "FR" categories under Movies and Series. Titles are labelled by language, so a family that switches between French and English can find both without scrolling past everything else.

Which internet providers in Québec work with IPTV Gold?

All of them. Vidéotron, Bell, Fizz, Cogeco, EBOX and smaller regional providers deliver the same kind of internet traffic, and IPTV Gold streams over any of them. Fibre and cable plans of 50 Mbps or more handle a couple of streams with room to spare. In rural Québec, fixed wireless and Starlink also work for HD, as long as the connection stays stable through the evening.

Internet & ISPs

How much speed you need, how much data streaming uses, Wi-Fi versus Ethernet, and how rural connections and Starlink cope.

How fast does my internet need to be for IPTV?

Plan on roughly 10 Mbps for a steady HD stream and 25 Mbps for 4K, per TV. A typical Canadian plan from Bell, Rogers, Telus or Vidéotron is well above that. Speed matters less than stability: a wired Ethernet connection, or a Firestick sitting close to the router, prevents most buffering on busy evenings.

Does IPTV Gold work with Bell, Rogers, Telus, Vidéotron, Cogeco or Shaw?

Yes, it works with every Canadian internet provider, including Bell, Rogers, Telus, Vidéotron, Cogeco, Shaw (now part of Rogers), Fizz, TekSavvy, Virgin Plus and Eastlink. You keep your internet plan and drop the TV portion if you have one. The brand matters far less than two things: the speed on your plan, and whether your TV is wired or on solid Wi-Fi.

Does IPTV use a lot of data, and will it hit my data cap?

It can. An HD stream at about 10 Mbps uses roughly 4.5 GB an hour, and 4K at 25 Mbps uses about 11 GB an hour. Many wired home plans in Canada are unlimited now, but some fixed wireless, rural and budget plans still cap usage. If yours does, watch in HD, check your provider's usage meter after the first week and save 4K for the big games.

Should I use Wi-Fi or Ethernet for IPTV?

Ethernet whenever you can. A cable from the router to the TV, box or Firestick (with an Ethernet adapter) removes most buffering, especially in the evening when neighbouring Wi-Fi networks crowd the airwaves. If a cable isn't practical, use the 5 GHz band, keep the device within a room or two of the router, or add a mesh point near the TV. Wi-Fi 6 helps noticeably with 4K.

Does IPTV work on Starlink or rural internet?

Usually, yes. Starlink's residential service generally has enough speed for HD and often 4K, though a partly blocked view of the sky can cause brief dropouts; raising the buffer size in TiviMate smooths those over. Fixed wireless and rural DSL work for HD if they hold about 10 Mbps steadily. Run the free trial in the evening, when rural networks are busiest, before you commit.

Will my internet provider slow down IPTV?

Targeted slowdowns are uncommon in Canada. The CRTC's internet traffic management framework limits how providers can single out particular kinds of traffic, and streaming video generally travels like any other data. Most of the "throttling" people notice is evening congestion on a busy neighbourhood node or a crowded Wi-Fi channel. A wired connection, the 5 GHz band and a backup stream fix most of it.

How many TVs can my internet connection handle at once?

Add up about 10 Mbps for each HD stream and 25 Mbps for each 4K stream, then leave headroom for phones and video calls. A 100 Mbps plan comfortably handles two 4K TVs plus a few HD screens; a 50 Mbps plan suits two HD TVs and normal browsing. Remember that each extra TV watching at the same time needs its own connection on your plan.

Can I watch IPTV on mobile data, at the cottage or while travelling?

Yes. Your login works on any internet connection, so the same apps run on a phone over LTE or 5G, on cottage Wi-Fi or in a hotel room. Mobile data drains fast, though: an hour of HD uses around 4.5 GB, so pick a lower quality on a limited plan. Only one stream plays at a time, so make sure the TV at home isn't running.

Refunds & billing

The money-back guarantee, the Interac e-Transfer process from start to finish, and what to do when a payment goes sideways.

How does the 7-day money-back guarantee work?

If a paid plan doesn't work out in the first 7 days, message support with your order number and ask for a refund. Usually we'll offer to fix the problem first, since buffering or a setup issue tends to be quick to solve, but if you still want out, the full amount goes back to you by Interac e-Transfer. The refund policy spells out the conditions.

How do I pay by Interac e-Transfer, step by step?

Choose your plan on the checkout page and note the order number it gives you. Open your bank's app, pick Interac e-Transfer and add the payment email shown at checkout as a new recipient. Send the exact plan amount, paste the order number into the message or memo field, and confirm. Your login follows by email or Live Chat, usually within 10 to 30 minutes.

Why do I need to put my order number in the e-Transfer memo?

The order number, which starts with GLD, is how we match your payment to your order in seconds. A bank transfer arrives with only a sender name and an amount, and several people can send the same amount in the same hour. With the number in the memo, your login goes out straight away. Without it, we have to match the payment by hand, which slows everything down.

What if my e-Transfer is delayed or my login hasn't arrived?

Most e-Transfers land within minutes, but banks sometimes hold a first payment to a new recipient for a security review, which can take longer. If your bank shows the money as sent and nothing has arrived after an hour, check your spam folder, then message support with your order number and the time you sent it. We'll trace it and keep your order open meanwhile.

How long does a refund take to reach me?

Once a refund is approved, it's sent by Interac e-Transfer to the email or phone number linked to your payment, normally within 3 business days. You'll get the usual notification from your bank and deposit it like any other transfer. Refunds go back in Canadian dollars for the full plan price, so there's no exchange-rate difference or deduction to worry about.

What if I sent the wrong amount or forgot the order number?

It happens, and it's easy to sort out. Message support with the name on your bank account, the amount and roughly when you sent it, and we'll match the payment by hand. If you sent too little, top up with a second transfer; if you sent too much, we'll return the difference by e-Transfer or put it toward a longer plan, whichever you prefer.

Whose name will I see when I add the e-Transfer recipient?

Your bank shows the registered business name that receives our payments, not the words "IPTV Gold". That's normal, and the same business name is printed on the checkout page so you can confirm it matches before you send anything. If your bank displays a different name, or asks you to approve one you don't recognise, stop and message support first. A quick question beats chasing a misdirected transfer.

Troubleshooting

Buffering, freezing, a guide that won't load, login errors, crashes and audio drift. Try these fixes in order before you message us; most take under two minutes.

Why does my IPTV keep buffering?

Buffering almost always comes from the link between your router and the screen, not the speed you pay for. Try these in order: restart the router and the device, plug in Ethernet or move to 5 GHz Wi-Fi, pause other streams in the house, then switch the channel to its HD version. If one channel buffers and the rest don't, try its backup or tell support.

Why do channels freeze at peak hours or during big games?

Evenings from about 7 to 11 p.m. are when home networks and your ISP's neighbourhood equipment are busiest, and a big game adds a spike on top. If freezing only happens then, test with Ethernet, switch to the backup stream listed for that event, and raise the buffer size in TiviMate or XCIPTV. If it persists, send support the channel name and time so they can check the source.

Why isn't my TV guide (EPG) loading?

Most often the guide simply hasn't downloaded yet. In TiviMate or IPTV Smarters, open the settings, choose the option to update the EPG, then give it a minute or two. If you use an M3U playlist, check that the XMLTV guide link is entered exactly as we sent it. Listings showing the wrong times usually mean the device's time zone is off, so fix that in the system settings.

What does an "invalid login" error mean?

It means the app couldn't match the details you entered. Check the three Xtream Codes fields: the server URL must include http:// and any port number, and the username and password are case-sensitive, so watch for capital letters and stray spaces. If everything matches, the line may have expired or be busy on another screen. Message support and they'll check its status in a minute.

My IPTV app keeps crashing. What should I do?

Update the app and the device's system software first, then clear the app's cache from the device settings. If it still crashes, uninstall it, restart the device and reinstall a fresh copy from a trusted source, such as the official app store or the Downloader app on a Firestick. Low storage causes a lot of crashes, so remove apps you no longer use.

How do I fix audio that's out of sync with the picture?

Change the channel and come back, which restarts the stream and fixes most drift. If it keeps happening, look for audio delay or audio offset in the player's settings; TiviMate and VLC both let you shift the sound in small steps. With a soundbar or receiver attached, try setting the device's audio output to PCM or stereo instead of Dolby passthrough. A full device restart clears stubborn cases.

A channel I watch is missing or not working. What now?

Refresh the channel list first: in IPTV Smarters use the refresh option or sign out and back in, and in TiviMate update the playlist from settings. Channels sometimes move groups or get renamed, so search by name too. If it's still gone or shows a black screen, message support with the channel name and its group, and they'll check the source or point you to a backup.

How do I fix a frozen picture on a Firestick?

Clear the app's cache. Go to Settings, then Applications, then Manage Installed Applications, choose your player and select Clear Cache (not Clear Data, which signs you out). Then unplug the Firestick for 30 seconds. Fire TV Sticks have limited storage and memory, and a full cache is a common reason the picture freezes while the sound carries on. Removing unused apps keeps it from coming back.

Why does the picture look soft or blurry?

The app is usually playing a lower-quality version of the channel. Many channels appear in SD, HD, FHD and 4K, so pick the FHD or 4K entry in the group rather than the first one listed. Check that your device outputs at the TV's native resolution, and turn off motion smoothing, which smears fast sport. On weak Wi-Fi, some players also drop to a lower bitrate on their own.
